Messy Church

As we won’t be able to meet up for our usual Summer Messy Church, we would like to invite you to celebrate at home!

The instructions are as follows and there is also a YouTube video which is in two parts where Denise demonstrates and explains the activities.  Have a good time and we hope you enjoy using these resources -

Therapeutic art and craft activities were enjoyed by the 33 children and their parents or carers that attended the last Messy Church.  The theme was Mindfulness!  Crafts included fingerprint dove painting, scratch art hearts, lacing cross bookmarks, intricate colouring, seed collages in CD cases and not so easy origami lotus flowers!

Rev John Musson led a short presentation and worship time about mindfulness.  We sang a couple of songs beginning with 'be still'.  The children and parents were sitting still as we thought about Jesus asking us to consider the flowers and the birds in Matthew 5, and as we listened to a reflection on how we are all loved as God's children.  We ended our time of reflection with 'Shine, Jesus, Shine' before a delicious buffet lunch - it felt a bit like the feeding of the 5,000!  Thanks to all those that donated their time and food to help make it such a great time.
