We hold many services to celebrate or to commemorate special days within our church calendar as follows;
aside from our formal and informal worship and our Easter and Christmas services
at Cudham Church and St Mary's, Downe.

Education Sunday 2024

At this United Service we focused on our overseas partnership with the Stephen Jota Centre, Uganda.

St Francis of Assisi Day and Blessings of Animals

Over recent years we've held a United Service in Downe to celebrate St Francis of Assisi Day, The Patron Saint of Animals.  This is a time to bring a pet (safely on a lead or if a small animal (safely in a cage) or a photo of a pet for a blessing.

Remembrance Sunday 

Both our churches hold Act of Remembrance Services during November in our churchyards and churches. In recent years we have seen colourful displays of cascading poppies flow from the church window at Downe and knitted poppies displayed at Cudham Church. In those at Cudham purple ones have been included to honour the animals used and lost in wars and white ones amongst the flowers on the church altar for peace.

 

Harvest Services

Harvest is a time when we are all encouraged in our communities to bring non-perishable items to give to others and to reflect on God's goodness to us and to give thanks.  Our gifts are given to local foodbanks and chosen charities.
